On January 22, 2010, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met with China's State Councilor Dai Bingguo in the presidential palace in Jakarta.
Dai conveyed the cordial greetings of President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao to Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The Indonesian president asked Dai to deliver his best wishes to Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao.
Susilo expressed congratulation on the success of the second meeting of Indonesia-China dialogue mechanism at Vice Prime Minister level. He said the communication between the two countries had become closer since he and President Hu Jintao decided to establish the Indonesia-China strategic partnership. The relations between the two countries are getting better and better, which opens up broad prospect for bilateral cooperation and has positive influence on regional and multilateral aspects. The two countries have conducted fruitful cooperation in various areas and carried out sound communication and coordination in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Group of 20 as well as other major international and regional issues, which the Indonesian side is satisfied with. Susilo emphasized that the one-China policy and the Indonesia-China strategic partnership are two pillars and important guiding principles of Indonesia’s China policy. The Indonesian side is ready to keep high-level contact, expand communication and cooperation and improve bilateral strategic partnership constantly based on the spirit of mutual respect, friendly consultations, equality and mutual benefit.
Dai said the relationship between China and Indonesia had grown substantially since they established diplomatic relations 60 years ago. In particular since President Hu Jintao and his Indonesian counterpart Susilo jointly announced the launch of the China-Indonesia strategic partnership, bilateral relations have been pushed to a new historical height. Dai said that the two sides had deepened political mutual trust and conducted fruitful cooperation in many areas. Both sides have been working closely no matter in terms of improving China-ASEAN relationship or tackling the international financial crisis. Dai said China appreciated Indonesia's consistent adherence to the one-China policy. He added that both China and Indonesia are big developing countries and they are good neighbors, good friends and good partners. The long-term good-neighborhood and friendship between the two countries benefit not only the two countries but also the peace and prosperity of the region and the whole world. China attaches great importance to developing ties with Indonesia. He said that there was great potential for the cooperation between China and Indonesia. China hopes both sides will be sincere and offer mutual support to each other, and join hands to seek common development and push their strategic partnership to one new level after another.
On the same day, Dai also met with Indonesian Vice President Boediono, exchanging views on furthering the communication and cooperation in the economic, trade and other sectors.
