From August 26 to 28, 2010, Special Representative Wu Dawei of the Chinese Government on the Korean Peninsular Affairs visited the Republic of Korea (ROK). During the visit, Wu met respectively with Senior Secretary to the President for Foreign Affairs and National Security Kim Sung-hwan and 1st Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Shin Kak-soo. Wu also held talks with Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Wi Sung-lac.

During the meetings, the two sides expressed their willingness to make joint efforts to maintain peace and stability on the Korean peninsula. The two sides agreed that the six-party talks is a useful platform to maintain peace and stability on the peninsula, and they will make joint efforts with related parties to create conditions for restarting the six-party talks at an early date.
